WHEN TO GO

Kenya offers exceptional wildlife viewing throughout the year, but the optimal times to visit are during the dry seasons: January to March and late June to October. During these periods, minimal rainfall leads animals to gather around permanent water sources, enhancing gameviewing opportunities. Conversely, the wet seasons—late March to May and late October to early December—see increased rainfall, prompting wildlife to disperse over larger areas, which can make sightings more challenging. For those aiming to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Masai Mara, planning a trip between July and October is advisable, as the herds typically arrive during this window, though their exact timing varies annually based on rainfall patterns.

DAY 1: THE GIRAFFE MANOR EXPERIENCE

STAY: Giraffe Manor

GETTING THERE:

Your Kenyan safari adventure begins as soon as you land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. A member of our team will be waiting to welcome you and drive you to Giraffe Manor—a scenic thirty-minute journey that takes you past the edge of Nairobi National Park.

THE DAYS EXPERIENCE

Giraffe Manor is truly one-of-a-kind. This luxurious boutique hotel sits within a small wildlife sanctuary in a leafy Nairobi suburb and is home to a herd of freely roaming Rothschild’s giraffes, along with several warthog families. Here, guests enjoy an intimate experience with these majestic animals, so much so that a giraffe might even greet you at your breakfast table by peeking through the window. Next door, the Giraffe Centre offers a chance to learn about conservation efforts for these endangered giraffes. Additionally, the area features various shopping spots where you can find unique gifts crafted by talented local artisans and designers.

DAY 2,3 and 4: SIRUAI

FULL-DAY EXPERIENCE

Leave Nairobi Wilson Airport at 11:00 am—just a short twenty-minute drive from Giraffe Manor—for a Scenic Air private charter flight to Laikipia. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted and transferred to Siruai Mobile Camp, with the option to enjoy a scenic game drive along the way.
Siruai Mobile Camp offers a classic African safari experience, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature without sacrificing comfort. Enjoy the unique romance of sleeping under canvas in the Kenyan wilderness under a blanket of stars. Experience the charm of traditional ‘bucket’ showers and relax around an open campfire at night while the sounds of the wild create a natural lullaby.
The camp provides breathtaking views of the vast Laikipia plains and Mount Kenya, and it presents excellent game viewing opportunities, including a rare chance to track the elusive African painted dog. When you’re not spotting elephants, lions, Grevy’s zebras, and other wildlife, you can explore the rocky ridgelines and winding river valleys that surround the area.
Kayaking down the Ewaso Narok River and enjoying breakfast by hippo pools are just a few of the unforgettable experiences you can expect during your stay.
The true highlight of Siruai Mobile Camp is the freedom to explore nature at your own pace.
With no permanent structures, no internet, and no other visitors nearby, you can truly disconnect and enjoy a liberating retreat into the wilderness.
